Kuno Prey
Kuno Prey was born in San Candido, in the Dolomites, in 1958.
He studied art and furniture design, took a diploma in Applied Arts and started co-operating within the industrial sector pursuing his research into materials and new technologies.
In 1981 he opened a practice in San Candido and he attended the 1st International Course of specialisation in Design, in the province of Naples, where he met the ‘masters’ Ettore Sottsass and Gaetano Pesce. He completed his training in Milan at the Domus Academy.
He then moved to Weimar, in Germany, where he taught Product Design at the Bauhaus Universität of Weimar, at the same time pursuing his activity of designer and working for well-known brands: Alessi, Danese, Nava, Rexite, Rosenthal, Valextra, Zanotta... thanks to which he was awarded international prizes. He currently lives and works between Weimar and San Candido.
